3 Ways to Earn Gold in World of Warcraft
By Seth Symonds | July 17, 2009
To get rich in World of Warcraft you are going to have to be prepared to do some work. There’s no way around it, gold isn’t going to simply appear out of thin air.
In order to earn a decent amount of gold in WoW, you will need to put some time aside that is dedicated to farming.
Secret Number 1 – Mining
One of the easiest ways to make gold in World of Warcraft is though mining, in fact, it is probably the single biggest contributor to the WoW economy. You can start mining as soon as you reach level 5, if you want to get off to a cracking start I suggest you hit every node you can during the early stages of the game.
On most servers, a stack of copper will be enough to get you a bar of gold. Now, I know that may seem pitiful to a high level veteran but it’s not bad for a level 5 character. You’ll find that due to the Blacksmiths, Engineers, and Jewelmakers, there is always hot demand for mined metals and stones.
Secret Number 2 – Fishing
Even though it’s traditionally not seen as a lucrative profession, gold can be earned rather well through fishing. If you take the time required to get your skill level up to 375, you’ll soon realise this.
Rare types of fish are needed in order to make some of the high end cooking recipes. In many cases getting these fish can a bit of work and Cooks are often too lazy to do it. In thee cases you’ll be able provide the fish and make some serious money.
Secret Number 3 – Herbalism
Herbalism can be a good little money earner on any server as the demand for herbs is consistently high. Collect a few herbs and you’ll be able to sell them to Alchemists for a healthy return.
Mining, along with Herbalism and Fishing can be used very successfully to make decent amounts of gold. If you are starting out, Herbalism and Mining are ideal as you can start earning gold from as low as level 5.
